Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has any advice. I have a porcelain bjd by Lidia Snul of Bjtales but I have recently noticed that her right glass eye appears to have a crack or some kind of damage to the inside. It's really weird because I know this wasn't there before and I haven't dropped her or caused any trauma. Quite the opposite, as she's Porcelain I treat her with kid gloves. It's really odd and I was wondering if this damage can suddenly just happen or if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

bellabronte1970 oh dear, that sounds really awful! If I were you I would contact Lidia Snul and ask for advise what to do. I have repaired a doll with the help of the creator because I didn't want to ship her half around the world. Maybe she can help you to repair the damage. But if it is too difficult I am afraid you have to send her to her creator for repair -.- I for myself had never problems with glas eyes. It sounds quite strange that it cracked without any outside force... Maybe there was an invisible crack in it from the beginning and Lidia didn't see it...

I also agree you can reach out to Lidia. I’m sure she’ll help you. I’d love to see pictures of your porcelain beauty!

Thanks for the advice guys. She's absolutely perfect in every other aspect so it's all quite odd really. The only other thing is if the damage is actually an outside mark that can be removed? I don't want to start scraping at the eye incase I do further damage.

On closer inspection it is a definite crack. I'm not prepared to send a very expensive Porcelain doll half way round the world to get an eye fixed. I could purchase another set of eyes from Lidia herself. Can anyone tell me, are the porcelain heads much the same in design as the resins, where you can remove the head cap and insert the eyes?

I have had glass eyes that have cracked too, although luckily not inserted in the doll's head at the time. Again- not through mishandling! The porcelain girls tend to be put together differently from the resins, but I would contact Lidia to check how she puts them together- it may involve totally restringing her. I can't remember for the life of me what it's called, but I came across a product that invisibly repairs glass cracks. It was when I had a display case arrive with the glass cracked, but in the end I got a replacement. Check on google for glass crack repair kit or similar and you may find it. This may be a simpler solution for you.
