Hello to you all :-)
I have a question today: Does anyone own a doll made from Epoxyporcelain? Maybe from Shirrstone Shelter? I am debating with myself if I should buy one of these dolls but I have no experiences when it comes to their durability. I know that Epoxyporcelain is in the end not porcelain and it is not painted with china paint. Porcelain and china paint are forever and I wonder how "good" epoxyporcelain painted with other materials will last. If anyone owns an Epoxygirl from Shirrstone Shelter I would be very thankfull if that someone would share their experiences with this kind of doll.
Thank you in forward!

Hi Orchidee, I dont have any experience with this type of doll, I do with the materials though. The material would be an epoxy, perhaps it has clay suspension included, but it is an epoxy. These can be extremely durable like Aves clay, most epoxies are very strong but without knowing the MDS details its hard to say what strength it is. The main clay can be tinted with paint so its a fixed color, the rest needs to be applied. It could be a heat set paint making it more durable, or have hardeners added, again hard to know. Paint over epoxy isnt the most durable if you are planning to redress the doll a lot, however at worst it would behave like a well painted resin doll.

Dina thank you so much that you shared your knowledge about epoxy!!! Maybe I am lucky and someone who owns a doll out of this material will join the conversation too :-)
