Caracal and Snegurochka, you're right. FB is such a waste of time but a lot of artists use it to show or advertise their work that's why I'm a member.

I don't really understand about the whole 'Russia problem with Paypal' issue! Both my purchases with Sisterfox have been via paypal, (she is based in Russia)with no problems at all, and other Russian Doll Artists sell on ebay and take paypal.....?? Does anyone know what these problems are?

As far as I understood it, Paypal doesn't allow anyone from Russia to withdraw money from their paypal account (for example onto a bank account), the reason for it I don't know, but this means if they take Paypal they can only keep the money on there and use it through paypal itself. This inconvenience probably drives many people in Russia to prefer other means of payment. Those who do take paypal maybe just keep the money on there and live with the inconvenience?

I have paid Julia with PayPal - she told me a few months back that it's fully functional in Russia now. Before she said they could not withdraw money etc, but it sounds like they can now. So I don't know if there are other problems with it there still, or if that was all...

And maybe the Russians have just been happy to pay with some other system and haven't had the need for paypal, maybe major of their customers have been within Russia? In Indian Ebay they use PaisaPay -which is annoying, since there would be so many items I would love to get, but can not. Maybe it would be easy to get PaisaPay account, I don't know? And I think they have their own system in Japan ebay-thingie too? Using only paypal all around the internet would be soooooo easy..

But it also would be really bad to give a system that lives off the fees of the payments that much power. I'm not sure how it translates but here they call it a pyramid. There should not be one company/payment system that much used that it gains to much power over it's customers and can increase the fees/get bad customer service (paypal is already there!) without reaction.

Well Paypal is an American company, isn't it just like us to wish everyone speaks the same language instead of us learning their system when we are in their territory? Yes Paypal is convenient for US but not so with everyone, because of system politics etc. I know in china using my American PayPal I was extremely limited because of my location. I couldn't use the payments I wanted to do. And a Chinese account needs minimum $250 to withdraw and they charge a large sum to withdraw. Convenient and reasonable for us but not so with everyone else. So just use a proxy service! We have been doing that with yahoo japan and many outside people use proxy service for eBay. Honestly I think apple pay will offset Paypal a little, and apple's service is great for the most part. We simply need more services or systems. But yes if it becomes international buyers is a big part of their earnings, they will think of a way to make it convenient eventually. However bandai japan has remained exclusive to japan for many products and are doing just fine and is a huge corporation. And I agree Hasel, Paypal doesnt have enough competition.

There is one porcelain Fragiledolls on Ebay at the moment, Buy it now/best offer. Sorry, don't know how to link with ipad.. Yes, I wasn't thinking at all about the power one company would get if there was just one system -blue-eyed me. I was just thinking how easy It would be... Because I live in a tiny-tiiny-country, we have same amount of people in this whole country as there is in one city in countires like Japan, USA etc..so we are just so used to adopt to systems the big world creates (small country like us, can not say how to do things worldwide ) And I don't want a credit card (using my husband's when I despirately need one, and I don't want to use that in internet either. )

PayPal allows debit or bank transfer, you just need to route them into your account.
