Bibarina: no matter how the tattoo is protected in resin dolls, it will wear of eventially -of course, if You just keep her under glass, and don't change clothes on her etc, then she will stay perfect Attention; some artist resin dolls have been copied and are now produced illegal, Sphinx girl is one of those. So, if You buy a resin version second hand, ask the seller of the certificate of authendity and maybe other additional info about the purchase (receipt or something else, proving that the doll is a real thing). I would love to have one tattooed porcelain girl like this! It is amazing!! I am a huge fan of tattoos (would love to have more myself, but I hate the pain involved...). I haven't been a big fan of the face of this doll, but I am growing into liking it. Woah- recasting- that's bad news! I haven't ever bought any dolls second hand so far, but will bear this in mind!

Has the tattooed porcelain sphinx been sold? I'm not looking to buy but I'm just curious. It's a very interesting doll, I really like it.

I think I like the monochromatic tattoos even better than the high colored ones.

Oh wow.....bootlegs.... :-(((((( Trifonova stopped making the resin sphinx in March 2016 because it was recast.
I have also heard, through the dolly grapevine, that resin Enchanted Doll has already been recast in China, but I have no way of knowing if this is true. I think it may be inevitable though.

It may just be a scam, not recast. Please join me in reporting this auction!

Reported. Either a counterfeit recast or even an ebay scam, the main photo of the dolls on the plush material is clearly (badly) photoshopped cut out.

Does eBay actually do anything about recasts?

I'm not sure, but like Orchid says it's probably a scam. When you report you can mention that the doll is limited edition from one artist, who is not involved with this listing. They are not selling secondhand dolls so the items they are selling must either be stolen (recasts) or nonexistent.
