There was also a controversy about the running of a private paid-for forum a few years back. You can find more information about these issues by googling the company name. Forgotten Hearts has been my second porcelain BJD discovery. I have contacted them on facebook congratulating for the beauty of their works, and then read scary information about them on the web. They were very nice in the chat and didn't hide the sorrow about the problems they had with some customers in the past. I'd love to know more from the people who has bought from them too, the dolls they display are simply beautiful. And since they have been around for a while now, they must have a satisfied fanbase =)

I have Some experience with fhdolls i bought My first doll Maybe 2 years ago it was one of the 13 doll. I remember being a bit dissapointed when reciving her. She had Some spots on her cheak and the leg where stringed badly so one of her legs werent straight. I sold that doll. When they made their bigger dolls i custom made a doll for me and i was very very happy with her posing. Some lashes have felld off and the wig was losing hair. I braided the hair etc and the wig couldnt handle it. I requested a new len and Its good so far. I later requested a male doll they recently created and was not happy with him at all! Thought he looked more like a girl Then a boy and his legs we're very floppy. I contacted Aida and gamalier and told Them about the problem with his legs, they Said i could have Some new later when they molded new. So they where very nice and responded to me. I sold the male one as well because i didnt like him in general he have a new owner on this forum and seem to be Loved I think i just prefer the female ones. On ebay they have so many good feedback on their Page so o think they approved very Much! I am thinking about purchasing one of their dolls soon so im not hesitating because om very pleased with My 17 inch girl and i think their style on the dolls and the sad faces are very special and moving also their small clowny dolls are adorable ^^ so i have to give fhdolls good feedback anyway.

FH was my very first commissioned doll. It was 3-4 years ago. I was new in this hobby and wanted porcelain BJD so bad. Being new in this, i had very little knowledge of what to expect. So, i contacted Aida and we discussed my commission of a doll with henna tattoos and plus three costume wigs ( which were very expensive $400.00 )
In the making process, Aida was very nice and communicated well. I was very excited to receive this doll, but my excitement was short lived. The doll was very floppy, couldn't able to hold any poses, was strung with elastic. The original wig was awful and was loosing all hair. The two costume wigs that i ordered were not there.
I contacted Aida right away with question about the wigs. She start playing that she doesn't know what i was talking about. Then i showed her all the copies of our conversations, proving that the money were received and she accepted my commission. She would not answer to me for weeks, and then answer that she will send those wigs. After waiting and waiting, i would email to her again and receive no answer.
It was and an excruciating struggle. It lasted almost a year.
At the end she stopped answering to my emails, never send those wigs, and never returned my $400.00.
I was crashed, disappointed, scared to trast other artists.
I had to sell this doll, because couldn't look at her. She was a reminder of my horrible experience.
Later on, i was hearing other complains about Aida, and i truly believed that she was a dishonest person.
That was my experience with ForgottenHearts. I don't think that i will ever get her doll, even though she seems to improve slightly, i think that she is making her dolls with such a speed that it goes against the whole process of making a good quality porcelain bjd.
This is just my personal opinion, based on my previous encounter with this artist.

Nordicfaries, it sounds like your first girl may have been the same body mold as mine from 2011 minus the pregnant torso. My girl has the same problem with her legs and spots. I'm glad you were able to get good contact with them about the problems with your boy. And I agree the quality has improved a lot. ivdolls, what a sad story! It doesn't sound like she was being straightforward with you about the wigs, you should have gotten your money returned to you. Perhaps Aida is just not a very detail oriented person. She does seem to make dolls very quickly and some quality of product and customer service is lost. I hope you will both make reviews in the Company Reviews thread! heartsofclay.freeforums.net/thread/193

I do like their ideas and the look of their dolls. But I will not order from a company with such bad feedback . Ordering a doll should be a happy occasion and not as stressful as what people have experienced.

I own Mahi Mahi, the first two-legged mermaid of the series. She is gorgeous and I love the quality of her resin. Yes, she is a little floppy, but mostly because her legs are so heavy. She can't stand anyway because of her fins so it doesn't matter. One of her eyelashes has fallen out, sadly, but I love her. My not-so-great experience has to do with the fact that Mahi Mahi was not double boxed or secured while shipping (just wrapped in bubble wrap) so her ankle and fin were broken when she arrived. Not too big of a deal (although it could have been easily avoided). I just asked for a replacement. However, the replacement didn't fit, thanks to the unpredictable shrinking of porcelain. I offered to ship the doll back so he could have a model but he said it would not help. He sent a second replacement (for a total of 3 legs and 3 fins) that sort of fit. Along the way, each iteration got more and more blue and no longer matched color-wise or fin-sculpting-wise. I didn't want to keep the conversation going so I just accepted the third leg. You can't really tell upon first glance that they are mismatched anyway. I still love the doll, though!!

What happened with the tattoos was that the china paint came out really ugly. At the point that we decided to start all over. Good thing, because we re-made the whole illustration and it came out even prettier. <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/6efab061/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

We would have gladly keep trying to match the leg color, that is just a downside of china paints. Every firings gives a slightly different shade of coloring that makes this unpredictable. She is made out of porcelain not resin. I own Mahi Mahi, the first two-legged mermaid of the series. She is gorgeous and I love the quality of her resin. I had the worst dolly-deal ever with Aida Maris Roman. It was my first commissioned porcelain doll. It was in 2010. I was really excited!! I was quite new in this hobby and wanted a porcelain BJD. I contacted Aida and we discussed my commission of a doll with green eyes, red hair with a tattoo. I payed lot of money ($ 1600) for the doll and waited more than one year to receive her. In the meanwhile I contacted Aida lot of time cause she did not keep me informed about the work in progress. (here you can read the full story: bad-dolly-deals.livejournal.com/260847.htmlI was really frustrated, devastated, discouraged about the situation. I felt cheated and it had never happened to me before. No doll and no money! This was for al long never ending year ... I made bad warning about her on Facebook, flickr, and everywhere I could do it. (and I was contacted by lot of customers with bad experience with Aida too) I even contacted the Italian Honorary Consul in Arecibo, PR, Stati Uniti. I lost lot of time and energy with it. Only after more than 1 year I received the doll.Bad packaged but hopefully safe. She has white hair and blue eyes (instead of green eyes and red hair). She can't pose, she is floppy and the porcelain seems to me like a egg shell … She is closed in a box since I received her. I love dolls and I have been collecting dolls since some years now, but I never had to deal with such people. I was scared and I no longer trust people as before. This was a horrible experience who I do not wish to anyone! Susanna
