This is a thread for doll making questions that don't require a whole thread on their own. Like, what is the name of the heat resistant cotton-like stuff that you put into porcelain parts going into the kiln, so the pieces don't warp? If anyone knows I'd appreciate the answer, thanks!

Allison McCleary at Woodland Earth Studio calls it "blanket prop." That's all I know...good luck!

'Ceramic fiber' can also help finding the stuff. I got my stuff from a factory that makes kilns -they sold me left over pieces from kiln making. I don't know if it is the same stuff as blanket prop, but it did the trick. (In Finland it is super hard to find stuff to make porcelain dolls -this isn't country known for it's porcelain doll artists )
