How about illuminated doll- she has them in stock now- I have one- she is really cute. And Caroline is really nice and a fast shipper. She actually has a novel way of ordering. She gets the dolls from the caster and doesnt have you pay until she has them in hand. So you could have one next week. illuminated doll

I like the collarbones. Since I use my dolls for modeling jewelry I make, having good collarbones is very important (for necklace photos), and good hands (for bracelet photos). I did find a doll to buy. I really liked all the dolls posted here, but then I saw this very affordable girl with interesting joints on Shapeways (3D printing site): www.shapeways.com/model/1625922/1-12-fud-alter-ego-female-bjd-doll-kit.html?li=user-profile&materialId=61I decided to buy her at least to start with because I need a model for 1:12 scale jewelry right away and the dolls I like most (like the eve studios girl) are a whole decimal point more. I can't afford that right now sadly. So I will save up and in the meantime this girl will be very useful. I think I can customize her to make her pretty too Thank you all for your suggestions! We can continue putting 1:12 dolls in this thread I think.

I sure wish we could 3-D print porcelain. Actually shape ways is working on it. So some day!

Actually it looks as though they have been doing the printed ceramics for quite a while and the previews they have of the printed porcelain look amazing! Here:

Yes, it seems that they are able to print the porcelain in a unfired state, but it still needs to be refined (to smooth the shape), fire,d and China painted. I think that leaves plenty for the doll makers to do! Still it is very interesting and I wonder how soon we can try it!
