I very much agree with you Iv, I ADORE the look of this gorgeous seamless one pieces torso. Knowing how Rafael's works of art tend to work, functionality and posing will not be lacking on this gorgeous little beauty, solid torso or not ;-) ~Anthony

Actually, I like the looks of one piece torsos too, it's definitely more natural! I am very excited to see how this doll looks when she's finished...

I too am interested to know how a one piece torso would affect posing as I really like the unbroken lines. I am sure Rafael wouldn't have done it if it compromised this, as she is the master of movement! I am really looking forward to seeing her completed.

I agree, Bibarina, I can't imagine that she would make it that way if it would limit posing too much. Personally, while I like my dolls to pose well, I would accept a slightly less poseable doll if it looks prettier that way.

I would love to have a doll with more realistic body, rather than able to give her different poses.

I would love to have a doll with more realistic body, rather than able to give her different poses. I am a bit torn on this subject... I guess I am the typical man who wants it all^^ I want beauty and movement. To me being able to take and hold a pose is what elevates a BJD over a simple doll.... You see, though I LOVE clean, beautiful, long uninterrupted lines on a doll's body, I also love function and lyrical movement. Dolls have always been mini fairy runway models to me^^ and I love being able to create the pictures I see in my head with these stunning works of art. Which is why I have fallen so deeply in love with Rafael's work. Bibarina described Rafael perfectly she truly is "the master of movement" with little to no compromise on beauty in my opinion.... I haven't the slightest doubt Rafael's Muha will have superb posing ability as well as beauty. That face and torso are already works of art. I keep having to remind myself I no longer collect SD sized dolls, but this girl is just so beautiful!!! ~Anthony

It's really great that there is such a talented artist Kapiszonka, I think Bidolls are very stunning too but to say that the bar has been set for the rest of the artists and that it is great there is such a talented artist, as if there are no others, seems quite depreciatory. Perhaps you don't mean it the way you wrote it. I have my preferred artist but I cannot write that that artist has set the bar for others! Come now, there are many super talented porcelain bjd artists, otherwise how could this forum exist? Every artist has their own style and every buyer has there own taste. You cannot speak for all. Let's not create more "Exclusive Doll" worship. Again, I agree with you that Bidolls are unquestionably stunning but the rest of you comment made me sad. I hope my reply is reasonable and hasn't upset you. I've read many of your comments with pleasure.

I can understand how this might rub some people the wrong way Sutton dear, but this is merely an opinion. An opinion I might add, that I share wholeheartedly. I may be a bit biased since I am so in love with my own BiDoll (her delicate sculpting, beautiful face paint, gorgeous joints and posing ability etc.) but the leaps and bounds in which this fantastic artist has grown in her craft in such a short period of time is undeniable. One can argue the bar has been set pretty high. I for one can not help but admire such a feat .... Something most defiantly worthy of admiration, I don't know if I would call it "worship" as you put it, but indeed more than deserving of praise. ~Anthony

Well, as per my previous post, I am clearly not denying the beauty of Bidolls nor their worthiness of admiration or praise, Anthony, so that is not a moot point. It's just that I would like to know which artists the bar is being set for? Certainly not Marina Bychkova! Alina Ivanova's doll sold for 20,000 USD vs Bidolls 8,500 USD, so I doubt it is for her. Tryffony doll just sold for 9000USD, so not for this artist either. So who? The comment seems to belittle other artists, as if there is only one type of beauty and style to beat or aspire to-- Bidoll's.
Exactly, it is merely an opinion, and an ill-considered one, because I think most artists are satisfied with setting the bar for themselves.
By all means admire all you wish.
