A new online doll friend told me about this forum and i am so excited to be here!! I have always loved dolls and discovered porcelain BJDs a few years ago...to me, they are the holy grail of doll collecting! I just love that they are made from a natural material, and the smooth - cool to the touch - surface i find to be so soothing. And of course the joints and their ability to move and pose in such realistic ways! A miniaturist at heart, i find that i am only interested in the smaller dolls. Early on i had a 14" Larisa Morillo doll, but she was just too big for me. Currently i have 6 porcelain BJDs...all 9" or smaller. My avatar is Oona...6" tall and made by Leah McClellan of Meowness. She has her own dollhouse! Below is her picture enlarged...i knit her top and hat. My latest direction, as an artist, is creating photo books using my dolls and animals. I have a couple in my Etsy shop and plan to create many more! I will be posting photos as time goes on. I really am so pleased to have found this forum...i have seen some awesome dolls on here already!! I hope everyone is having a good weekend! quietdove

I love your little girl!! Meowness makes awesome dolls.
And what a fun, creative hobby you've found making books. Would love to see pictures!
Did you see the 1:24 porcelain bjd that's on eBay right now? She blew me away! Only 3 inches tall!

Thank you for the nice welcome...it's good to be here! None of my friends are into dolls, so it's wonderful to be a part of a group that is!! Snegurochka...Yay Michigan! Are you downstate? allurose...yes! I had seen that 1:24 doll on Ebay...amazing! I've purchased from Natasha Yaskova before, and just yesterday she contacted me to let me know of a 2.4" (1/12 scale) baby girl that was available. I'm getting her!! She will be the perfect little baby sister for Oona! Can't wait! Here are a couple of the artist's pics...

Aww, that is such a cute, tiny little doll! Yes, I'm in the Metro Detroit area at the moment. Looking to move a bit further out, but I'm not sure exactly where that will be, or when...
