Lidia creates OOAK porcelain BJD, with unusual and interesting characteristics. Her characters are famously not "beautiful" but moving and emotionally attractive.
She is known to create each of her porcelain dolls as a true OOAK - she carves the dolls from the moulds from a very rough stage, effectively achieving subtle differences in features for each doll, even when pulled from the same mould.
(will add more)
Doll Lines & Sculpts
Early dolls were Kroby, Someone, Ophelia, early versions of Pearl and Asrai in flumo , early mouse in cernit, Mermaid, Gerda, Fusima, Golova, Sveta, porcelain Mouse#01 and various un-named dolls
Newer porcelains were: Dogrose, Sea-horse, several un-named dark-skinned seahorse type fawns, Phantom, Aericia, Liana, Phoenix, Pearl
The porcelain "masters" that then became resins were: Mouse, Alyona/Sindy, Aericia, Phantom, Asrai, Pearl, Nifer
Many other resin releases have sinceevolved from these porcelain masters, as well as a few of her dolls appearing so far only in resin, not porcelain (ie: boy mice)
BJTales porcelain dolls are very difficult to come by, rare and expensive, but she encourages people to email her directly.
On her FB page there is updated information (September 2015) with the new contact person for acquiring her resins, as Lidia would prefer to focus on new dolls.
Measurements (at least the height of the doll, but complete measurements are awesome!)
Small dolls (Mouse, Pearl, Asrai) are as tiny as 14cm
Medium dolls (Ophelia, Alyona) 26cm tall
Tall dolls (Aericia, Phantom, Phoenix) 28cm tall
Skin color options, accessory options, etc
Her porcelain dolls are known for not being the typical pale white porcelain of most other doll makers. With texture, a stone like colour and graininess, the surface of her dolls mimics the surface of the skin. They are remarked by collectors at feeling heavier and sturdier, more solid.
Her porcelains have a slight off-white to grey colour, blushed and painted to achieve unusual skin tones. She also makes dark skinned dolls with African features.
Dolls always come nude, with a hand-made wig.
