I never know what to say for introductions. I live in Alabama, but I'm not from here originally. (I've moved around a lot.)
I've collected dolls for around 30 years. I like Blythes, resin dolls, Dollfie Dreams and antique bisque mignonettes. Many years ago, my favourite doll's head was shattered (an antique Simon & Halbig), and later when I discovered resin BJDs, I thought they would be better since they could not break that way. However, the yellowing bothers me and I've missed the special look and feel of porcelain dolls. My 9 year old BJDs look worse for wear than my 90+ year old mignonettes. So at this point I am thinking that I'd like to focus more on bisque dolls, but the smaller ones that are easier to care for. (I've always loved tiny dolls anyway.)
The girl in my avatar is the bisque version of iMda Babette.

Hi dezarii I love porcelain for the same reasons - it seems a much more stable material compared to resin! Love the doll in you avatar, too!

Welcome dezarii! I agree with you about yellowing. It's sad to see the doll change color, and it's not like the dolls are cheap (most of them). Breaking can be scary but honestly if you drop a resin doll the fingers might still break! At least with modern made porcelain dolls there is often a possibility of a repair from the artist. Not so with your antique, how sad! Please show some of your dolls!!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. ^^
My resin dolls have had a few accidents, so I know they're not immune. One's headcap popped off into a canal, and there was a faceup mishap. I was able to get that one repaired, but it was very difficult. Also, it's stressful to send dolls away, so I'd rather try to avoid it at all cost. I think I am going to stick with dolls I could hold securely in one hand, so probably in the range of slender 43cm or smaller.
For photos, I'm not sure what dolls I have that would be on topic here. Unfortunately I'm very busy this weekend and next and won't be able to take photos. But after that, I'd like to do more sewing and have more doll time and be able to take pictures. Although from where I am right now, the weekend after next feels like a million years away.

It's ok to share some OT photos in your welcome thread or the tea room if you like. But you also don't have to! Wow, losing a doll part in a canal is a new one for me to hear about! At least it was only the headcap! :S
