I am working on Cloud right now. This evening I refined her feet and added more detail. The porcelain I am using for Cloud is lighter than the porcelain I use for Black Cloud. These feet have not yet been soft fired. I like to take photographs of my progress, the photos often enable me to look at my work in a more objective way and allow me to see things I would not have noticed before. I often make improvements and changes after I look closely at my photos. sculpting feet by It has taken me several days to make the parts for Cloud. This is the hopeful period of creation before the firing. Soon I will surrender all of these pieces to the kiln where they may or may not reach maturity fully intact, free of warping or cracking with pieces fitting together as precisely as they did before the trials they face in the kiln. What is necessary for survival can potentially lead to destruction. Cloud by Randi Channel, on Flickr Randi Channel, on Flickr
