BiDoll is the brainchild of Russian face up and doll artist Yana Tsiarentsyeva better known by her artist name Rafael Nuri.
Having mastered face ups through years of painting BJDs, BiDoll was born from Rafael’s desire to create something that would showcase her ideas in her favorite art form … Dolls.
Rafael wanted to create a doll that was also a work of art, and since works of art last forever she decided BiDolls would be made in porcelain, which was nonporous, strong, and beautiful instead of resin, which was so limiting and volatile. Her masterpiece would also have to have a face and body that was both physically appealing yet have superb range of motion.
In 2010 filled with drive and determination Rafael started the BiDoll project. After 4 years of excruciating hard work, trial & error, time and dedication her masterpiece was finally complete.
BiDolls are hand crafted from the finest porcelain to bring forth works of art that are not only aesthetically pleasing to the sight and touch, but also durable and everlasting when given the proper care. BiDolls stand at 17 ¼” (45cm), have 17 points of articulation for an incredible range of motion, permanent ceramic-china painting of face & body, and leather lining in joints for smooth rotation.

Thank you so much for starting a thread about BiDolls. I love them. Her latest doll, Cherry Bloom, is so beautiful it just takes my breath away. I want to see photos of the rest of her cloak-- I'm loving the use of the 3-D flowers on it. The cloaks very couture with those details. And in particular, I love the sculpting on her chest, sorry to focus right in on that, but she has a magnificent bosom! (and I love the jewelry on her collar-bone area too!)

These dolls are totally amazing! Thank you for starting such a well-presented thread. I love the sculpt with the forehead ridge, I find it ethereal and creepy in the perfect way! The BiDolls to me seem to be fascinating in their not-quite-humanness, which is reflected in the photography. Each pose is just a little too far in the angle of the head, the hips, etc, to be human. Very cool.

I am crazy about these dolls. They are so unusual, not your typical bjd dolls- to start with the double-jointed neck, very unusual, but it gives a wide range of head movements. Heema's face and forehead structure reminds something of an alien creature or an elf, very mystical and out of this world. Her last doll, Divia or Cherry Blossom, is amazingly beautiful and ethereal. I love how Yana sculpted their hands, they are so elegant and expressive. All and all, her dolls are incredible.
I can not wait to see her new sculpts- elves. I love elves, so i'm very excited to see what Yana has in store for us.

I first came across Yana's work only a few days ago, and was totally blown away! Really looking forward to seeing more of these amazing dolls! I agree with allurose in the not quite human attributes- they almost look like they could shapeshift to me!

AUUGGHH Here is the first post I've seen on this forum that is doing exactly what I was afraid of: making me want to immediately rush out and BUY. What a gorgeous style! Must add her to my tumblr (which is how I keep track of all the dolls I want, hehe). Thanks for introducing these dolls to the forum!

Thanks for introducing these dolls to the forum! nessa, i had the same feeling when i fist saw her doll, Heema, that i MUST have this unusually beautiful doll. I hope that one day i will have the pleasure of having one of her dolls in my collection.

I've loved her work ever since I saw her first doll, I really like the combination of beautifull and strange/scary, it provokes the uncanny feeling I associate with work that just touches you in a way that makes you feel alive. (I hope this makes sense XD)

I heard on the ED forum that they are rare and expensive in a way that may soon come to the realm of Enchanted Doll. So maybe you all should buy now while you still can! If it's not already too late!
Nessa, I know just what you mean! Several dolls have been added to my wishlist too!

It was truly my pleasure!!! I have been bursting at the seams to talk to everyone about these incredible new dolls. Cherry Blossom is actually my doll, so I am just so blown away. And yes nenethomas her bosom is quite magnificent ^^ <3
allurose- I think their are about 3 completed BiDolls in existence right now Envy, Pearl & Cherry Blossom. The dolls that are currently in the process of being made have actually already sold to people on her wait list :/ But I do believe the new Elf sculpt doll will be up for auction for new years or somewhere around that time. ~Anthony

If I had known this artist was going to be at Dollism NY , I would have made sure to be there. Have you posted any photos of your girl? We have to find a venue for all of these porcelain beauties so we can see them in one place!

allurose- I'm sure she'll have a link on the website once the doll is finally up for sale, but as soon as I see it on the site I'll post it on here as well.
ivdolls, nenethomas- Thank you.... I'll be sure to do that as soon as she gets home. Last time I heard from Rafael she informed me she is working on ballerina feet and shoes to go with them so I just asked her to ship my doll when the feet shoes are complete^^ I'll hopefully have her by the end of the December and spam the forum with pictures^^ ~Anthony
