I think I started it quite wrong by first adding doll photos without introducing myself properly) I hope you don't mind me copying the text from "discussion by artist"))
My name is Kristina Lavrinaytis and (starts as if I was an addict to something and reveal)) have dreamt about making dolls since I can clearly remember myself. I first tried to make figurines, but it appeared (surprisingly, huh) not to be posable and flexible. So, bjd turned out to be what I have ever wanted) I’ve made about 8 bjds so far and three of them are made of porcelain. I would like to share their photos with you! I started making dolls 2 years ago, my first and loved-a-lot doll was made from La Doll/Living Doll, so I suppose it is not about to be shown here, though if you like, you can see her photos on my social accounts and instagram. I’m really looking forward to communicating with people connected with our gorgeous type of art here)

Welcome Kristina!
I also have always wanted to make dolls. How did you learn how to make them? Did you take a class or read books? I just have no idea where to start. I don't even know how to make a porcelain mold yet! I'm so glad your passion has become a reality (for our sake). Welcome to the group!

I don't even know how to make a porcelain mold yet! I'm so glad your passion has become a reality (for our sake). Welcome to the group! Thank you! I learnt from a very good doll artist (I think I'll make a topic with her dolls later), and of course read and watched a lot of workshops. I think I could help you translate some of workshops (though I'm not quite sure if it is right to call that a "workshop", more like a photographed process) from russian artists, if you like) Porcelain mold is not the very first thing to do, and for most artist casting their fist doll in porcelain is not desired because of lack of experienced, but some people do, actually) Thank you again!

That would be so helpful! Probably to other members on this site too. I live in California and there aren't any porcelain doll makers offering classes in my area. When I lived in Canada I took classes when I was very young but she did the mold part. I did the sanding and painting and that kind of thing. Your help would be so appreciated if you ever have the time!

Maybe one day! If only my job didn't require so many hours, boo I'd WAY rather dedicate my lives to dolls...
