He looks great and very posable. Is he strung on elastic? What do you think about his quality and workmanship?

He has springs, where the other older and smaller FH doll I have is on elastic. The Quality of the doll seems great compared to the other 2 porcelain bjds I have. The clothing he came with looks nice but was quickly made and mostly tied on with laces. So on the doll itself I give high praise, but not the clothing, it was poorly made. But I like to sew and was planning to make him new clothing from the beginning anyway.

That is interesting that he seems to pose so well since another FH doll I handled was very floppy. I was not impressed with the tension. Maybe their quality varies, or maybe I should give that doll another chance! Maybe I was being too picky!

Thanks Issilyn, I was very interested to hear your opinion. I'm quite tempted by some of the FH dolls, but have read so many unflattering reports about both the dolls and their maker, that it makes me very wary.

Ooooh, he has a really cool body. I love him! The floppy doll allurose speaks of is my girl, Mahi Mahi the mermaid. Her legs are pretty much useless, I believe because of the incredibly heavy fin feet. Her arms and neck, though, are pretty good. She is my only doll who can truly look up.

Uh oh, Nessa, you caught me bad mouthing your doll! I didn't get much chance to play with her, I was probably too harsh. And she is so beautiful I think it makes up for her legs. They are so well painted. And after all, she is supposed to be swimming in water, no wonder the poor thing can't move her legs much on land! And looking up is SO important. Just carve out the back of the neck where no one can see it a little bit and all dolls would be able to do it! Sigh.

He is very interesting. He has very different proportions, I can put my finger on it, but I think his head looks small to me. I noticed that he still has pins- but is strung with elastic? I guess it is different then a resin BJD.

I guess it is different then a resin BJD. He has springs, I think she said. But there are some BJDs strung with elastic that have pins because they have individual elastic a for each joint instead of individual springs. His head seems small to me in comparison to other BJDs, but not in comparison to real humans. The new (resin) dollshe boys have teeny little heads too, but they look very nice once they have their hair on.

I think his proportions are very like the porcelain girls, but I am just not used to seeing it in a male doll- because hardly anyone makes them. I think he would look balanced next to a girl.
I also want to say- I like him in the traditionally girly poses.

He poses so nicely! I also found his head small but then again I am still getting used to fashion doll sizes coming from the BJD hobby. It's nice not to see an overly muscled male.

His proportions are more natural like you'd find on a human than on a lot of dolls. It may be slightly small for a man but it doesn't bother me at all. Eiko82- Thank you. I borrowed your poses to show what he could do.
Fitz - I felt a bit silly putting him in the girly poses but I was just trying to show the way he can pose and another member used those same poses to show how well the ED and Anjelika Balan's dolls posed so since everyone wanted to know how he posed, I thought it would be a decent reference rather than making up manly poses
Nessa- I'm sorry to hear your girl's legs are so heavy and hard to pose. I think you're right about the Fins just being too heavy. The porcelain seems pretty heavy on the regular legs and with all that fin on the bottom the spring tension is probably unable to take the extra weight, and won't stay where you put it.
Kalani- I like that he isn't Muscle-bound too. It's a lot nicer to make clothes for him when he doesn't have weird bulges that I have to account for. Unless you're using stretchy fabric, it doesn't work well.
