Dea Vivente Dolls by Anya Kozlova
" "Dea Vivente" presents artist's porcelain ball-jointed dolls (called BJD) by doll artist and photographer Anya Kozlova. All the dolls are handmade by Anya herself, beginning from idea and sculpting a master-model to creating a doll's image and photography. These creations are not toys and oriented for collectors, visual art professionals (painters, photographers, fashion designers) and on the whole, for people who love art and beauty. Dolls can be played with due to their lovely ability to pose, nevertheless they require a quite delicate handling, since porcelain, despite being a very durable material that can exist for centuries, is fragile to beats (and can crack when dropped on a sturdy surface). Dolls' fully articulated bodies consist of 20 parts and 18 ball-joints. Face-painting and body blushing are done with overglaze paints. Each layer of paints is fixed with firing in a kiln and will not wear off or fade with time. Removable wigs are made of fine natural hair. The dolls are assembled with elastic cord. Joints are lined with natural leather for a softer body parts movements & better fixing of poses. Dea Vivente's dolls are of limited editions, that makes them unique and rare exemplars of doll art. Dea Vivente Dolls are 14" tall, double jointed, and strung with elastic. The body style is curvy and full, which is nearly unique in the world of BJDs. The doll's facial features are serene and classically beautiful. They are painted with great attention to detail. Many hair color choices are available, and the doll's paint can also be customized. Each doll comes with a deluxe box. I really like that her dolls are more full figured, they look very realistic to me this way.

I agree hasel! And the proportions (length of the leg, size of the head) are more accurate than most dolls. Truly works of art.

I absolutely love her new girl Gemma. I love how her dolls are quite realistic while still having the mobility of ball joints. She's #2 on my doll-collecting priorities list. Hehehe!

I spoke with Anya and she encouraged me to use her photos in the thread (they are now embeddable on flickr). She said she hopes to join the forum soon. I think she is very busy with projects right now. Look at the progress she has made on Gemma! It seems she is done except she needs her costume. I can't wait to see her full look, she is already stunning! Gemma's jewelry by Kaa-Annaku, on Flickr

Another Russian artist! I had thought she was Scottish, I don't exactly know why. These are beautiful! and very realistic. That necklace design reminds me a bit of the Bi-doll one. Amazing work!

I must admit that this curvy body is not my taste but her faces really blow me away! They look so real!
