Actually I never plan to buy a doll))) But when I see another beatiful doll - i want it. First - the price. I cannot afford really expensive doll. So if the price is higher tnan 2500$ - i just close my browser (does not work for EDs) The most important for me is face and face-painting. I do prefer porcelain. But some artist I do love are doing resin only (so sad) I would prefer artist full set! Some dolls in my collection never worn other clothes ever. And the doll MUST inspire me!

Haha, I am the same as Svetlana, I just fall in love with a doll and then I try to make it work and make her mine. It's very heart based for me. It's like falling in love with people, you look at them and feel a special connection, and it makes you appreciate that the artist created this magic. In looks, I prefer natural, organic over heavily made up. I like the face to be fresh like a person who walked in the woods. I don't wear make up myself and don't like it much on my dolls. For poseability, I again like if the doll can pose naturally, if there is a flow. But most of all, if the doll gives me a deep feeling when I look at them, that is when I want them. The most I have paid for a doll is up to $2500 and that is kind of my limit. If I had more money I would not mind paying more but at this time, I cannot go higher. For a porcelain ED I might sell other dolls and push my limit much higher, but it would take very much dedication and saving.

I look for nothing but a spiritual connection. It might sound real, but I am very spiritual and I know that the dolls might not move, but they can feel and have stories, so I buy those that I feel related the most with.

A doll must first literally "take my breath away" for me to care enough to look at the posing, or other purchasing considerations. Although I have never analyzed all of the things that go into what evokes that response, it probably involves dozens of different aspects of the doll, and comes from past experiences, fairy tales, and other things buried in my subconscious. If a doll doesn't grab me like that, it makes little difference if it poses well, fits clothing I may already have, or adheres to any collector guidelines. It simply must take my breath away when first I see it. I have a lot of dolls I have purchased over time that did not give me that feeling. I have decided they must go to make room for dolls that do. )

I would be interested in hearing if you feel the porcelains pose as well as the resins, or is that even a factor with you? I also don't always redress a doll, if I love the way she looks.

There has to be a connection for me when I look at the doll. It does not always happen immediately, sometimes I become drawn to a doll and keep going back and looking at it again and again. The face does not have to be pretty but has to have something special about it.
