What did you order? a secondhand doll
Link to the website or thread you used to make the purchase, if any: ebay listing www.ebay.com/itm/171477482600?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
When did you order (date you paid): Oct 4th, 2014. This doll was made in 2011.

About the Quality of Service - n/a, secondhand doll
3.
About the Quality of the Product (rate 1-3, explain any 1s or 2s)
Did the quality match the price? 3, but the price was determined by the secondhand seller. Her original price is unknown.
Item as pictured and described? - n/a secondhand
Quality of porcelain (too thin? Rough spots?): 1
The porcelain feels thin and light compared to other porcelain dolls I have owned or handled. It feels like she is not as sturdy to me, although she is unbroken so far. There are multiple, noticeable blemishes on the doll that may be due to poor porcelain quality. See photos.
Quality of tension (does the doll hold poses? Too loose and floppy?): 1
The tension is terrible. She is strung partly with elastic and partly with springs. While it is possible that her floppiness is due to the elastic aging (she is three years old), I do not believe she was ever properly tuned. The hooks attaching the springs and elastic to the pins are too long for easy movement. The springs lack swivels, so she can't easily rotate her limbs. She seems to fight almost every pose. Her leather is coming off, but this is to be expected and is probably not the artist's fault.
Quality of paintwork: 1
The paint on her face is very simple and noticeably asymmetric, even at a casual glance. This is especially true for her eyeliner, eyelid line, and eyebrows. The paint on her lips is a simple single color with no shading, lines, or details. The paint on her fingernails and toenails seems to have come off. It only shows in the cracks of her fingernails, the tops of her fingernails are blank. I think her nails may have been painted with acrylic paint and it since rubbed off. Her blushing is dramatically uneven, with one arm presenting as freckled and rosy pink and one arm presenting as nearly blank porcelain. There are marks on the back of her legs and face that appear to be flecks of dark colored porcelain paint, as if the artist placed her on a dirty surface and then fired her without cleaning. These marks will not come off, so they are not dirt acquired after the doll was made.
Her belly tattoo is very nice. I wish the paint was more vivid and shaded.
Quality of sculpting: 1
The nose and ears are not well defined. The finger and toes are completely straight and lack the realism of bones. The fingers on one hand are longer than the other. One elbow is noticeably larger than the other (almost 20% more bumpy). One thigh is very crooked, the top of the thigh points right and the knee points straight ahead. The knees are asymmetrical and clunky. So are the breasts. There are unintentional dents on the back and a few other places where the porcelain was never smoothed out. Her seam lines are raised and were not sanded flush with her body. Her eye holes are noticeably asymmetrical.
There are a few nicely shaped parts of her body. I like her lips and her collarbones. Her overall face shape is nice too.
Quality of accessories (box, stand, wig, clothing, etc): 1
She did not come with an official box. Forgotten Hearts dolls never do, as far as I know.
She did not come with a stand, although she might have had one when she was originally sold.
She came with a poor quality cape made of sheer fabric, but I don't know if this is part of her original costume so I leave it out of my judgement.
Her wig is a disaster. The hair seems to have been glued to the wig cap straight off the llama (or goat, etc). To properly make a wig, the strands should have been separated, combed through, and placed so that the ends of the hairs are secure in the glue of the cap. As it is, the wig falls apart upon touch because the strands are just layered into other strands; they are not all stuck into the glue. I don't know how to describe this problem well. It is like when a dog is in shed season and drifts of fur just come off their body when you pet them. The strands are not attached to the body. These strands of hair were not attached to the animal at the time the fur was cut; it is shed hair that clung to the good hair by chance. The wig cap is plastic craft fabric reinforced with glue. The pen lines used to trace the cap are visible on the cap when it is removed. The wig may never have been meant to be removeable, it may have fallen off as the glue fragmented or been pulled off by a previous owner. Thus, I will not judge the way the glue at the scalp has held up; this may not be the fault of the artist. But this is still the worst mohair wig I have ever seen or even seen pictures of.
The eyes are so bizarre. They are a printed sheet of paper with an iris and pupil which has been glued onto an acrylic/plastic disc. The white of the eye is made of polymer clay eye putty. This creates weird lines where you see the edge of the shiny acrylic ending and the matte polymer clay beginning. I have never seen anything like it. There are also huge air bubbles in between the paper and the plastic, almost completely covering the pupil and about 10% of the iris. Her eyes fell out of her head. I was trying to clean off the goop left by her eyelash glue and they fell out. I was being extremely gentle. It is possible that she was handled roughly by previous owners, but I believe the problem is in the way the eyes were attached to the head. The polymer clay did not adhere properly to the porcelain and a different method should have been used, especially considering the eyelash glue is known to goop up and necessitate the doll to be cleaned.

Other comments?
I know I have been harsh in my judgement, but I can't help this as I am used to high-quality, pristine porcelain bjds. I have seen dolls from many artists, including more recently made FH dolls, and this poor girl seems sloppy and slapdash in comparison. If I was the artist, I would have considered her a flawed product and would never have sold her at all.
However, I want to make sure people realize this is an old doll and Aiis & Gamalier Bravo have made incredible improvements in their doll quality since this doll was made. For example, a newer doll I have handled (belonging to user nessa), has lovely face paint, thicker porcelain, nicer hands, smooth body sculpting, symmetrical features, beautiful eyes, even body blushing, no seam lines, a high quality wig, and decent tension. Please do not judge my vintage girl as this artist's best work, but rather as a sign of how far FH has come in a short time.
I also want to mention that despite my harsh ratings, I absolutely adore her. I see lots of potential in her and I love her overall concept. I was prepared for a doll of this quality and look forward to doing what I can to improve her. I am very happy to have purchased this doll.
Would you order from this company again?
I might if I had endless money and really liked the design of a new doll. I would not give my money to this artist unless they assured me the doll would be securely double boxed (not standard). From what I hear, breakages are very common and I would not want to risk this with such an expensive and beautiful doll. I would not order a custom doll from this artist, I would want to see it complete before paying.
