Fawkes, I'd love to know more too...I am hoping someone might join the forum who actually owns a doll...that would be fabulous!  I know that Koitsukihime has been a huge inspiration and idol for Marmite Sue. I stumbled upon a blog recently, where a person had attended her exhibition and managed to take one photo before they were stopped. From memory the small dolls were about $10,000 and I read somewhere else that one of her large dolls (over 1 metre tall) sold for around $30,000. Quite reasonable I thought, in comparison to the price of Enchanted Dolls for example. I think I'll take allurose's advice and start a Koitsukihime thread in the hope that more fans may appear! Wow how mysterious! I'm so glad you're starting a thread! |

Oh my goodness, this forum is HOPPING! I took a nap this afternoon and woke up to check the forum and there were 3 pages of new posts! Wow! This is awesome. Allurose, I must thank you yet again for creating this forum. Obviously there has been a crying need for it!

Thanks so much for the link Fawkes. Nice to see a photo of Koitsukihime too! As I don't have one of her porcelain dolls myself, I'm reluctant to start a thread using photos from her books that I have, or an excerpt about her doll making, in case of copyright infringement. I have emailed requesting permission, but as yet I've not received a reply. |

She does seem to be very protective about her work and dolls indeed. So you're right it's better to have her permission.
