Amoreen, you are so lucky to have seen Marina's dolls at a show! I hope she does a show here in Western US someday. It's not too far, right?

Hello amoreen- Welcome to the forum! I too have Italian heritage (my father) and many of my aunts, uncles and cousins still live in Italy- in Rome, Florence and Tarranto! Wow!All of cities you have mentioned are beautiful! Especially Rome - The Eternal City! ;-)

Hi, Jill. I truly hope you will visit Italy one day! There are so much things to see! As to doll shows in Italy, I'm afraid not to be very helpful... The only show I attended to was the Fashion Doll Convention in Grottammare about two years ago where Marina Bychkova came with most of her porcelain dolls and I had a true pleasure and honour to see them in person... my heart still thrills when I think about those moments! One of our sweet memebers (don't know even when??? - probably because I was too excited ;-) ) took few pictures that I still keep on my pc... Other shows, as far as I know, do not regard porcelain dolls, but I am not a very reliable on that issue. Sorry for that! I hope you don't mind if I share with you my happiness:
I am also a huge fan of Marina's beautiful dolls--and of porcelain, Amoreen and love seeing photos of her dolls. I have never had the opportunity to see her porcelains in person, though I was able to get one of her resin dolls.
Do you know Linda Macario? She creates porcelain BJD and lives in Italy. Her dolls are "child dolls" but she does some lovely work. I think the porcelain BJD artists are increasing in Italy. Perhaps they will put together a doll show. Have you attended Ldoll in Lyon, France. They are a BJD event and are starting to draw from all over the world, including some of the Russian & Ukrainian porcelain BJD artists. I do plan on attending that next year (2015). Thank you for sharing your photos.
Although Marina's resins are incredibly beautiful, well... porcelain EDs are simply pieces of art, no hesitation here!
And yes, I know Linda Macario dolls, but I have never seen them in person.
And, yes, yes, yes, in the near future I WILL attend the show in Lyon! It's my must-have-to-do-thing!

Just lovely- one day I hope I will get to see one for real!! Thank you for sharing! I wish all of you could hold at least for awhile one of those incredible pieces of art... it's almost a mystic experience! When I decided to attend the doll convention, I was convinced to be excited and very happy but... oh, guys, when you are there, able to touch your Grail Doll... Very few things can be compared to this.

She has to be one of my absolute favorite pieces by Marina. She is the epitome of the "Enchanted" name.
