Hi everyone
I have made my first porcelain BJD using double joints. she is reasonably successful for a first doll apart from her lower legs which aren't perfect yet. I love traditional Japanese dolls and like the look of their single joints so I may design a new doll to see how single joints work. What I wondered was, can single jointed dolls be assembled with steel springs in the same ways double jointed doll are.? It would mean attaching both upper and lower limb springs to just one bar on the single ball joint. Has anyone tried doing this..?
I will post photos of my doll once I figure out how to upload them onto the site.
Hope you can help...!

Thanks Allurose, Fawkes and dd-anne... I'll give it a try then and see what the doll can do with just the single joints plus good steel tensioning. I'm going to be making some child-like doll with chubbier limbs so single joints should work well for that.
