They are all so beautiful! Today I received her book and I have spent ages already staring at the beauties in the pages. I love the effort she puts into writing about them, and telling her story of inspiration for each character. Yeah, the book is really cool! The photos are big and great quality. I have to admit my eyes kind of glaze over with most of the text, but that's like all my art books. The writing can never compete with the pictures for me! I always have my ED book out at meets and it gets a lot of attention <3

If you ever get the time you should read a few of the stories. I enjoyed learning more about Mariana and all the ladies she has made. I would have a hard time selling such beautiful dolls that I spent ages making and even longer planning... I actually saw a couple of dolls I hadn't spotted online which was extra special too. I recommend for anyone who both can or can not afford an ED xD

It would take a miracle for me to own a porcelain ED. Perhaps one day the "timing will be just right" and one of them will "choose me". The timing was not right when I worked with Marina in the early days. But all things are possible. I believe--I believe. ) I do have a RED and she is beautiful. Would very much like to make a good home for an Asian RED.

I am on the waiting list for an Asian RED, but I don't think that is going to happen too soon either, as I don't think Marina makes them very often!
How lucky you are to have worked with Marina though! Did you get to see her porcelain dolls in person? I would love to see and touch one......

I have never had the opportunity to see Marina's porcelains in person, bibarina. I tried to get her to come to IDEX but she was doing a lot of traveling to Russia at the time. I became editor about then and just didn't stay too much in touch.

No picture, imho, could make them justice, they are like a real pieces of art...

I'm so happy she is doing the contest again! I feel a little depressed already since I know I won't win, no matter what the rules. There are so many talented people in the community. Every year the entry she chose has been a masterpiece. I'm pretty sure I don't have the skill to compete. But it does mean one lucky person (hopefully from our forums) will win and share many pictures! That is worth a lot.

Yes, l am the same allurose- no chance of winning myself, but it would be lovely if someone from the forum did!!! Perhaps when the competition is over, people could post their entries on here for us all to see. The Popovy Sisters recently had a competition, and it was amazing to see all the fantastic entries together!!!
