I 100% would only buy porcelain BJDs if I could afford it. Aesthetically, I tend to prefer the look of hand-painted eyes, which are a staple of porcelains. Even with resin BJDs I gravitate towards dolls like JAMIEshow and FICON. I hate that resin yellows, risks chipping, is noisy when dolls are posed, and can be toxic. and honestly the feel of resin is identical to the feel of the high-quality hard plastic some of my Integrity Toys dolls are made of-- and those dolls are 1/3 of the price of my resin doll and won't yellow. Porcelain also just feel really nice in my hands That being said, my favorite dolls is actually a resin BJD. Zaya by Natalia Loseva is incredible, and though I dislike resin, the resin Natalia uses is of much better quality than that of my Dollmore Sara, for example. I don't know if the level of detail in Zaya's sculpt could even be recreated in porcelain, to be honest. Resin is, admittedly, great at picking up fine details.
