Hello Everyone ^.^ I'm currently creating/sculpting new faces for our FHDolls and thought you might like to see the progress. Any input will be much appreciated. <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/fd4c2175/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

I really like the facial expression with her little teeth showing, and the hands look so delicate!

I like the teeth too! She looks young compared to the other heads, very sweet. I have never cared for the dolls with the pinky sticking so far out. It looks broken to me. But I think most people prefer it that way, so probably you are on the right track You are using sculpey is that right? How do you like that medium?

thank you so much for your compliments.
This is the first time I can make an open mouth with teeth that actually looks good. I'm happy with the results. Yes I plan to make two more faces. A very sad one and one with closed eyes. I want them to be all different from what I have made so far.
Porcelain is not as fragile as it looks , I love the hands with delicate peeking pinkies. I made the fingers quite strong.
Also today I started making a pair of shoes that hopefully will be casted as well. Crossing fingers!!!

Oh I'm sorry, FH, I didn't mean to say that the porcelain actually looked broken or might break. I meant more that if my fingers were in that position...it would be because they are broken! So it looks odd to me. But like I said, most people really like this position for fingers, I think I am the odd one out. They look really good when posing "pretty"...and when playing guitar!
Shoes sounds very cool! Good luck!

I really love the open mouth with teeth and the nose! However the hands it seems the palms are proportionately bigger than the fingers. The pinkie finger looks like the same length as the index finger and the ball a bit too long. Is polymer clay easy to carve as well?

I know, do not worry. The fingers look super cute when you put the hands near the face. So delicate Oh I'm sorry, FH, I didn't mean to say that the porcelain actually looked broken or might break. Yes is a very good material to work with as you can carve, paint, sand and cut pretty easy. Yes I did the pinkie a bit larger than it supposed to add strength as they sometimes snap when de-molding. And Most times I ended up re attaching fingers on the raw porcelain. I really love the open mouth with teeth and the nose! However the hands it seems the palms are proportionately bigger than the fingers. The pinkie finger looks like the same length as the index finger and the ball a bit too long. Is polymer clay easy to carve as well?

I decided no to make the face with closed eyes as I though people prefer to look at a face with eyes anyway so I started to make a Japanese face with semi closed eyes. What do you think?

is adding clay after baking easy too? I hear paper clay is really good with repair type of work, say you can cut something apart and stick it back together. does polymer clay have similar properties to paper clay in that sense?

I find it pretty easy to work with. Yes you can keep adding layers of clay to baked clay. is adding clay after baking easy too?
