Thanks lazhielle! Ilaria from Time of Doll makes fabulous wigs. I've seen a few Popovy Dolls wearing her wigs, commissioned by their owners. I'd be really interested to know where you heard that the Popovy Sisters outsource their production? I know they do so for the casting of their dolls and also their furniture/accessories. But I always thought they made the costumes, shoes & wigs themselves. Sorry to harp on about it, but you've got me intrigued now.

I don't see anywhere on that site that says she can make wigs for Enchanted Dolls. Have I missed it?

I am a little surprised too, since I don't think it is mentioned anywhere when someone buys a rED. But maybe I am wrong since I don't have one myself. If I were this wig maker, I would want to have credit for making wigs for Enchanted Doll!
I know Marina makes at least some of her wigs. There are progress photos of her making wigs for her porcelain dolls on her blog. But getting the rED wigs outsourced is a great idea.

I have to say that I LOVE my resin ED soooo much. It's a thing of beauty, it really is. Marina made a good choice of manufacturer.
I thought Marina made her wigs, too. I've been struggling with wigs so much to get them so flat and smooth and to make the wig cap fit!

Marina definitely does the porcelain wigs. But it makes sense that she outsources them to this artist who specializes in making wigs for the more "in bulk" designs. Like how she outsources getting her silver pieces molded and cast. It is possible for someone to vacuum cast and melt silver on their own however it is not so pricey to have someone else cast. It is sensible to delegate work, so you can focus on what is important.

Got it! It's timeofdoll.it How do you know this? I know that Iliara takes wig commissions for people owning Popovy but this is the first time that I've heard of Marina or the Popovy sisters commissioning someone else to make the wig orders that they receive.

I tried to get on Orchid designs site but you have to be a member?? Is this right? Nope, you might be leaving out the S in orchidSdesigns though? I have a flickr showcasing my work and etsy too where I list available wigs and encourage commission requests. :-)

Talking of the Time of Doll site- has anyone had problems viewing the wigs? Every time I log on to the site, and click on the wig pages all I get is a message saying that the site is restricted! I can't even subscribe to see if it makes a difference, as the catchall phrase box you have to enter the code in doesn't show up either!

I've heard this rumor about the wigs being outsourced, too, but I don't believe it. Unless there is actual proof, I'm going to continue to believe that Marina Bychkova and The Popovy Sisters make their own wigs. I have some resin EDs and some porcelain EDs and the handwork on both are Marinas. You really cannot duplicate someone's style that easily.....
