I found out about this forum at the International Doll and Teddy Bear Show in Asheville, NC last weekend. The show was very nice. I enjoyed seeing all of the dolls and talking with the doll artists. I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful things here at this forum, and meeting new people. ~SC

Oh how nice to hear we were being talked up at the show! I wish I could have gone. What was it like? Were there many interesting doll artists there?
Welcome to the forum! I hope you will have so much fun here. Do you have a doll artist (or several) that you are particularly fond of?

Oh how nice to hear we were being talked up at the show! I wish I could have gone. What was it like? Were there many interesting doll artists there? Welcome to the forum! I hope you will have so much fun here. Do you have a doll artist (or several) that you are particularly fond of? Thank you for the warm welcome, allurose. The show took place at the Crown Plaza Tennis and Golf Spa in Asheville, NC. There were all kinds of dolls represented, including porcelain, resin, cloth, vinyl. and silicone, as well as OOAK polymer clay and paper clay dolls. Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed talking with the doll artists if I had a chance. Hildegard Günzel had a booth, but I did not meet her. I love her dolls. I met and talked with Grace, of JPop Dolls. She had the work of Kaye Wiggs, Linda Macario, and BJtales, as well as others. I also saw the work of Larisa's Divine Creations. I love her work. Her booth was really nice, with large photos of her dolls, and a wonderful group of her large and small porcelain dolls. I also enjoyed talking with Berdine Creedy, and Lulu Tatum, and many others. I also picked up a complimentary copy of HAUTE DOLL magazine, and was given a complimentary copy of the May/June issue of DOLLS magazine as part of the registration packet. It was SO MUCH FUN. I had a grand time. I also had a chance to visit downtown Asheville, NC. It was really beautiful. I was able to eat lunch and dinner at a restaurant, and went window shopping as well. There were street performers on many of the corners, playing music, and so forth. All in all, I had a very good time in Asheville, NC. I am planning to go to the International Doll and Teddy Bear Show next year, if they have it in Asheville again. I hope so. ~SC

That sounds like so much fun! I wish I could go to every convention...but maybe it is best for my wallet that I don't! Did you make any interesting purchases?

I did not make any doll purchases at this show. I sure wish !!! My tastes in dolls are larger than my purse. Going to a show like that is more along the lines of me going to an art museum than to a shop. I really enjoy looking at all the dolls, doll clothes, accessories, and so forth, with the added benefit of being able to talk with some of the doll artists. ~SC
