Hi every one! We are Fernando Amado and Paulina Gravagno. We live in a small town of Argentina called Bahía Blanca, and make porcelain bjd dolls with 18 points of articulation. We made epoxy clay fixed figures for many years before to known the bjd world and since that moment our only purpose is to make beatiful dolls. We make dolls at request but also art dolls; we look for inspiration in many different ways, art, fashion, movies and other doll artists work are our muse. The porcelain casting molds are made from our original sculpted dolls. All our dolls are one of a kind, no comercial molds or prints of any kind are used to make them. Our dolls are 29 cms. tall and are strung with elastic cords. The joints are protected with synthetic leather. They are painted with aerographer and tiny brushes with acrylics and pastels and sealed with an acrylic matte lacquer for a more natural look. The wigs are fixed, made with mohair or synthetic hair. All the accesories are handmade by us, including shoes and stand. We will glad to invite you to know our work. Greetings for all!!! www.flickr.com/photos/porcelain_ball_jointed_doll/15194111785/in/photostream/

Hello there! I was just looking at your Flickr pictures, how pretty! I love how dynamic and interesting the posing and photo angles are, it's very inspiring.
I've never heard of someone using fired porcelain clay for the body and then acrylics/pastels for paint. I wonder what made you decide to do it that way? That's how I do faceups on my resin dolls. I am still learning!

I am glad that you liked the photos, Fernando is the most creative of us about that and we like to play with our dolls during the sessions . The materials choice have a lot to do about us being artisans for many years, working on epoxy clay and then painting the figures with acrylics and using mixed media. Was something like an natural evolution for us. These are some dolls that we made a few years ago: and these are our very first bjds, made totally in epoxy clay: We are still learning too! This a fascinating and full of challenges art and to make our days very exciting, we never know what is expecting for us.

Hi Fernando, hi Paulina! It feels wonderful to be part of a forum like this, with so many talented artists being part of it. Everyday is a new discover! Looking at your works my heart started beating faster, they are wonderful. Also I was impressed by the poses your dolls can perform, and the way they can perform them: they feel so natural, like they could jump out of the screen at any second I fell in love with your tattooed geisha doll, and that Miku Hatsune was a so nice surprise!
