Hey everyone!! My name is Danae Lawson, I live in my small-ish home town in North Dakota just outside the oil boom area. I’m married to a fabulous man named Chris and have two fur babies, my cats, Kiki and Sansa. I’ve been interested in art my entire life, I started out drawing and sculpting little dolls and eventually graduated to oil painting. A few years ago I discovered Marina Bychkova of Enchanted Doll and fell completely in love. Sadly, Marina’s dolls go for tens of thousands of dollars so my chances of getting one are nil. However(!) my love for her dolls inspired me to make my own doll. I also wanted to mention I’m also very inspired by the Popovy Sisters. Their new body sculpt is astonishing! Thanks for reading!

Nice to meet you, Danae. You look like a doll yourself. ;-) What do you like best about porcelain BJDs? For me, they inspire me to want to sew for them and pose them so they look realistic. I don't want to have many of them, but just a couple so that I can build a wardrobe for them like the antique French fashion dolls that came with trunks full of things for them. :-)

Kittybubbletea, thanks! haha. As an artist I've always been interested in beauty and bringing more beauty into the world and I think porcelain BJDs do just that. I used to collect dolls as a child and still have many of them so I think my love for them is a sort of nostalgia for playing with dolls as a child too. I'd love to be able to build a wardrobe for my dolls. I really need to get back into sewing, but my doll making is taking up all my hobby time at the moment...
