Hello all I'm new to porcelain BJDs but I have a Forgotten Hearts girl about to set off on her journey to me from a friend in America. I'm very curious and excited to meet her. My name is Laura and I'm from England UK. I've had my doll hobby for 5 years now and I absolutely love it! I currently have various resin BJDs including a Popovy Sisters Little Owl, and I also have Blythes and Pullip family dolls. I especially love photographing my dolls and wish endlessly for more time to do so. So far, I really like Alina Ivanova's porcelain dolls (but they're out of my price range). I would love one of the clown girl Forgotten Hearts dolls the most, i'll be keeping my eye out for one of those second hand, and i'm also in love with Fragile Dolls JooDella <3 I'm happy to be part of this forum and to find out much more about these amazing dolls Laura

Thank you very much kamia! ♡ She will indeed be my first porcelain bjd and I have no idea what to expect really compared to my resin dolls... weight, movement etc. It will be fascinating to meet her! Shes has quite a fragile and waif like expression which makes her seem more delicate somehow even before considering her medium. What kind of girl would you like to be your first porcelain? There are so many brands to choose from I'm finding. I'm in between Leeds and York where abouts are you? Hi bibarina! Thank you for the welcome ♡ I hope the book goes ahead it sounds great. Talking of books I received the enchanted doll book yesterday! It's beautiful, the clothes are really impressive, as are the themes behind each doll. I get the feeling porcelain bjds are going to be quite addictive. Which porcelain girls do you have? I must spend time in the galleries to see your girls!

hello Laura, good to see you here I love your photos and look forward to seeing your new girl when she arrives. Just to mention, there were some technical hitches at Customs a few weeks ago and there's a huge backlog of parcels waiting to be processed. I've had one in customs for almost 3 weeks now and still no sign of it moving. I hope things will improve by the time your girl hits the UK. xx

Hi pianissimo Thanks so much, and I will definitely take photos of her as quickly as possible. I'm so excited Oh really? that doesn't sound good... I hope they get the customs backlog cleared before my girl arrives, and that your parcel gets released soon too, 3 weeks is a long time to be in customs. I'm still getting vintage clothes through customs charging, but I have a couple of parcels that are taking their time. Fingers crossed

embers my doll head got through customs in less than a day today - so I guess it's all down to luck! I'm originally from Manchester, but moved to Surrey late last year for work - missing the North! My absolute dream would be to get an Aeslinn porcelain girl from Magic Mirror. She has so much grace and her skin looks alive, and her eyes full of soul! But, with a wedding this year etc... I feel my porcelain dreams are slipping away from me! Please let us know when your girl arrives ^^

Kamia,
I can't place the Aeslinn porcelain doll or Magic Mirror. Do you have a link, please?

She's just out of customs and at the depot now but I've not had notification of the charges yet. I'm going to try and drive over there tomorrow evening or Saturday to pick her up She should only be a £30 charge because the seller kindly marked her way down on the customs form. I just hope she's not damaged in any way from her travels! It's a hard wait, but I'm excited for her imminent arrival
