I am revising my doll's double hip joint. I want the legs to have a more natural look which i think is generally challenging with a double hip joint. I love the added flexibility and movement that happens with a double hip, but it tends to have an awkward look. I am in the messy sculpting stage, but soon I should be ready to make some molds for the hips and thighs and then a new doll will be on the way!!!!

I started off by thinking I would improve my double hip joints, but now I have created a domino effect and I am revisiting torso, thighs and calves. I am excited to get finished, but I also want these parts to meet my vision. I just have to have patience...

Now I am on to mold making! These mold are for the lower torso and thighs. Both molds will be 4 parts. I am finishing up the molds for the double hip joint and the calves

I have completed all of my new molds and made castings. Now my pieces are ready for the kiln, wish me luck!

Out of the kiln tentative stringing, I have a day of sueding joints ahead of me. I am feeling good about the new double hip joints.
