She's an amazing doll. I love her dimpled chin and smiling face- she's so likeable.

She is breathtaking! Love her wigs - those little ships! Just amazing. Madame de Pompadour is exquisite.

I do really love this doll so much- I am grateful to Chad for posting the videos that they made of the doll's creation- so inspiring and really, quite awesome. You really get a feel for Marina's genius when you see her at work...

Gosh, I guess I am one of the very few oddballs that are not loving Madame de P's hairdo, nor her chair. Can someone tell me why Marina would incorporate a clunky base from a "Michael's" craft store for the chair when during the Louis XV period, furniture was at its most refined, elegant and sophisticated??? It's like the complete opposite of what Madame de P would sit on.

I think she had the pin cushion chair (or made it) and it was too short- so she used the candle-stick base. I really love the chair actually, I've been searching ebay for "pin cushion chairs" ever since-

Oh I love pin cushion chairs too, but just find this one highly incongruous for Madame de P, whose personal furniture was so very very fine and elegant. It kindda hurts my eyes to see Madame de P on such a clunky chair base. Madame de P would have never, ever sat on such a heavy-set design.

I'm shocked. The bid starts $80,000. Frankly, the final price for Cinderella already terrified me. Now, I'm speechless.

I think the starting price is to stop the nonsense bidders by saying " I did participate in the bidding, at least." In the past, many did that was somewhat fun to take part in bidding when the starting bid was much lower! I might be wrong!

If someone outside Canada should win her I hope they have also the custom-fee in mind... In Germany it would be 20% and I am not sure if there is a limit. But if someone can pay 100k for a doll I guess 20k as an additional custom-fee won't be a problem oO

It looks like its local pick up only on the auction- I wonder if that is a mistake? But if not- I guess no custom fees.
