Hello everyone, My name is Sarah. My username is after my favourite flower:) I am a resin bjd collector in the main, but after buying a SisterFox porcelain doll on the secondary market a year ago (Sakura), I have just taken the plunge and purchased a second doll (SweetTouch) again on the secondary market, which will hopefully be here in a couple of weeks. I love the ability to paint and characterise the resin dolls, but dislike resin as a composite material and don't feel that I am investing in a quality medium. I love my resin dolls but don't like what they are made of ultimately! I feel that now is the time to start collecting dolls of a higher quality alongside them, ones that won't discolour or need re-painting, and which I can enjoy as they are, without feeling that they are ultimately devaluing as time goes on. Size wise I love their delicacy in the porcelain medium - the detailing is amazing! Oddly I currently favour the SD size in resin, probably more for ease of handling. I have re-styled and re-dressed my Sakura (possibly a no-no for many collectors). I re-named her Blossom (after the tattoo of the same, on her shoulder). She was partly purchased in memory of my late Grandad who had this pet name for me. I truly love the heirloom, high quality feel of her. I can just enjoy her without feeling I need to do anything! I am sure that this forum will be just as bad for me as the Resin Cafe has been in terms of 'enabling'. I swore I would only have 1 resin bjd, just add a '0'!

Hello Sarah. Welcome to this wonderful forum. I am sure you will love your little Aquamarine, just as i love my Sweettouch cuties. By the way, your little girl is getting ready for her shipment, and you will see her very soon.

Hello Sarah! Nice to meet someone else from the UK! I'm currently living in Surrey I look forward to seeing your dolls. I also agree about preferring porcelain to resin. I have sold the majority of my resin to fund my porcelain addiction!

HI Sarah, welcome and I hear you on retiring the resin for porcelain! My few resin and has quickly turned into a growing cabinet of porcelain over the past few months.

Thank you all for your warm welcome! I guess that really I am on a very slippery slope now. I will be buying something more intrinsically beautiful, but will also be paying more for that quality. I don't have much space for my current resin collection, having to keep them just displayed in the bedroom, but at least the Porcelain dolls will be a much easier size to accommodate. Thank you Irine - I am so excited for little Aquamarine to arrive
