I don't know if anyone's even still here but bots, but I need to vent about something.
So far I'm 0 for 2 in terms of full satisfaction with the porcelain BJDs I've bought, and it's mostly down to lighting. The first one I bought had face painting that looked dirty and/or sunburnt under non-professional lighting. The second just came yesterday and it seems I've been tricked again- she looks like she's about to cry, but she just looked mysterious and pensive in the promo pics. Sad dolls always make me feel guilty and stressed because I'll never be able to "comfort" them properly. I spent the money and waited for her to ship from Hong Kong, and she IS a gorgeous doll. But...she's not what I expected when I bought her.
Arghhhh. Can artists please just photograph their dolls in natural lighting if the appearance is so radically different with different light sources?
