Eli has just announced on her blog that she and her father have just developed a new shock resistant ceramics slip. She's currently in the process of having her new porcelain patented and has posted some photos of sample faces with two different finishes. One is more translucent than the other. pickled.free.fr/index_en.html

This is incredible!! I wonder exactly how shock-resistant it is. Even if it is only as tough as resin (which of course can be broken with a lot of pressure) what an amazing technological advance.

I am very excited for Eli. She is a very talented artist and a great person. Can not wait to see her new dolls. I wonder what would be the price for this larger doll?

Wow! This could be a porcelain revolution! I agree with you! I was pretty excited when I read the news this morning. Besides Eli is not only extremely talented but she's also the nicest person to deal with. I'm very happy for her and look forward to seeing her new creations.

The photos she posted show the larger doll's head (about 50 cm) but I suppose she'll also offer the smaller ones with her revolutionary porcelain slip.

This could be a million dollar (or more ) idea. So happy for the two of them that they could come up with it together and use it to make great art.

MOONGLASS is the name Eli chose for her new slip.
This is a passage from her last post:
"high spec casting detail, cold and heavy to the touch, can be cast as thin as porcelain, high translucency, shatter resilient, strong (comparable to the strength of most rigid plastics), non toxic (but not a children`s toy, these are collectible dolls), green to the environment." "There seems to already be some rumor about the dolls being unbreakable – this is untrue, and I do not claim this – please no throwing of dolls on the floor, I put allot of work into them! but yes, unbreakable for all practical purpose of normal use, and yes, no shattering on any unfortunate collision impact."
I think we all agreed to the fact that it was "unbreakable" under normal use, however I've changed the title of this thread a little - from "unbreakable" to "shatter resilient" - to avoid all misleading ideas.
