This new doll is fantastic!! The body is so elegant <3. Would jump over the moon to get that doll -unfortunately that would not magically fill my bank account with money to actually buy the doll... , so just dreaming dreaming dreaming...

Yet another scandal. I hope that this peaceful forum will not be dragged into their war. Rafael and another person have other places to discuss their differences, or should i say similarities.

I will repeat two very important forum rules:
We do not tolerate public accusations of recasts. Anyone who has evidence like this that may point to recast activity must post in the Ask the Moderators subforum and not make public accusations. This is to prevent flame wars and people's reputation getting spoiled before the evidence has been reviewed.
Second, of course we do not allow recasts and always will take steps to prevent recasts from appearing on the forum, even if we have little power to completely stop this illegal activity. So we do very much appreciate people bringing potential issue to the attention of the moderators via the Ask the Moderators subforum.
We will investigate this issue as we did before, through contact with the artists themselves and seeking further evidence. In the meantime, we ask that people refrain from perpetuating rumors or we will have to close this thread.
Thank you all so much for helping create this wonderful place for customers and artists alike.

I do not agree with the moderator. Sorry. I posted this information not for discussion. Only for collectors who come here to get some more information about dollsmakers know it. Rafael has done all "best" for that to have her dolls in collection - it's shame

We are temporarily closing this thread while the moderators review the evidence and decide if this doll can be considered on-topic for this forum.

We have not yet come to a decision about Ego, but seeing as it is clear the doll is not actually a recast, we are opening this thread to invite discussion. All members can feel free to share their opinions about Ego, positive or negative, as long as there are no personal attacks or other violations of forum courtesy rules.
Thank you!

Well, could it be just a coincidence that the both of them came up with similar idea? Even though that the concept is similar, the joints look completely different. You can't really steal the idea without more close look. If you ask me to reproduce that joint, i will not be able to do it, because i have no idea how it was made or how it looks in real life. About the pictures, Rafael had black and white pictures before, there is nothing new to it. And maybe she can provide WIP pictures of her work.

I would love to see Raphael Nuri's progress photos. Pasha has many. I think when you work hard on any art work you should take many photographs of your process, ESPECIALLY in the bjd industry where sadly people are frequently claiming work that is not originally their own for financial gain and artistic notoriety. Why is this such a problem in this industry?

I can maybe understand being accused of copying once, but multiple times??? First with photos floating around showing the uncanny resemblance to Doll-chateau, then similar photos of Muha resembling Dollstown, then talk of Lithe resembling Popovy doll body with Little Owl's face(Monoke) and now yet again photos of the uncanny resemblance to Pasha Setrova's doll. How to explain all these "coincidences" though??

I agree, too many coincidences. Although, i would disagree about Lithe. The body looks nothing like Popovy, and Monoke doesn't really look like LO, maybe her mouth. I think it will be awful if an artist will have to mutilate his creation, so it doesn't look like someone else's doll. Rafael is creative enough to make her own art without copying faces of other dolls. I am not on anyones side, just want to be objective.
